Welcome (back) to TechCrunch. It's The Daily Crunch.

THE DAILY CRUNCH
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 14 2018 By Darrell Etherington

TechCrunch is brand new for everyone! Also, Raspberry Pi has a new Pi and YouTube is mildly addressing its conspiracy problem. All that and more in The Daily Crunch for March 14, 2018.

1. TechCrunch metamorphosizes

We've graduated from our larval stage into... a butterfly. I'm not sure if this lepidopterist metaphor works or not.

Anyway, we have a brand new site with a pleasing new design and some clever features that are designed to make it easier to follow stories over the months and years as they develop and evolve.

2. For Pi Day: A new Pi

The Raspberry Pi has revolutionized access to computing, and it's also pun appropriate content for Pi Day, itself a day based on a conceptual pun. This new version really does have a lot to offer, though, so check it out.

3. YouTube is doing... something... about conspiracy vids

YouTube's going to start showing brief Wikipedia excerpts under YouTube videos that espouse or promote popular conspiracy theories. You know the ones I mean: Every YouTube video.

4. Broadcom abandons Qualcomm bid

Broadcom has officially called off its bid for Qualcomm, following the deal being blocked by a Donald Trump executive order, since the orange guy cited 'national security' concerns in opposing the deal.

5. Rocket Lab's next launch is its first full commercial operation

Another private launch provider is elbowing in on SpaceX's territory: Rocket Lab, which has its own private launch facility in New Zealand. The company's Electron rockets

6. The Winklevii want to become the Bitcoin police

Or at least they want to spearhead a self-regulation movement for the industry, which is currently such a free-for-all that Google is banning all cryptocurrency ads from its platform.

7. Stephen Hawking has died at 76

Renowned and revolutionary physicist Stephen Hawking has passed away at the age of 76, which is a blow to anyone who ever sought to understand the stars, our existence and everything in between. He will be missed, to say the least.
